Virtual physical therapy and COVID-19 FAQ

Virtual Physical Therapy and Coronavirus FAQ

The spread of the coronavirus has caused nearly every person and organization to fundamentally change the way they carry out daily activities. If you’re a current or prospective physical therapy patient, we’re sure you have many questions. That’s why we’ve prepared the following guide to the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) and the answers you need.

How is Panther Physical Therapy responding to the coronavirus outbreak and COVID-19 pandemic?

There have been no cases of coronavirus in our clinics, and we’re taking every step we can to ensure the safety and health of our patients and staff during this time. We’re closely monitoring the situation and are following all guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). You can find more information here.

Is Panther scheduling in-person appointments?

As an essential health care service, our clinics remain open during COVID-19. Our team has implemented precautionary steps to keep both our patients and our staff safe. You can contact us at (800) 908-4090 for scheduling questions. We’re also offering virtual physical therapy sessions, also known as remote physical therapy, during this time to offer patients an alternative option for those who don’t want to leave their homes.

What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?

Don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re making every effort to accommodate for the health and safety of our patients. We may be able to reschedule your session as a virtual physical therapy appointment.

What is virtual physical therapy?

Virtual physical therapy uses an internet connection and the video conferencing capabilities built in to everyone’s mobile and internet-capable devices to connect with a licensed physical therapist through a secure platform. This allows you to interact as if you were right there in the clinic with them.

Is it possible to work with my regular therapist in virtual physical therapy sessions?

As Panther PT is currently working under special staffing requirements, you may be scheduled with someone other than your normal therapist, but you can rest assured that our entire team is dedicated to delivering exceptional, personalized care.

How much will telemedicine sessions cost?

Virtual physical therapy care is covered by most major insurances in the same way as an in-person visit. Our team also accepts credit and debit as well as Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) payments for Medicare, Medicaid and self-pay patients.

What do I need for a Panther virtual physical therapy session?

We use a secure video communication platform that was designed with the needs of physical therapy users in mind. It runs through major web browsers, so you do not need to install or configure an additional application. You simply need a functioning internet connection and an online device such as a tablet, smartphone or computer with a webcam and microphone. You should wear loose-fitting clothes and prepare a well-lit and open space.

If you have any additional questions, we’re here for you. Contact us today to learn more or if you’d like to schedule your initial virtual appointment.
